> Scanning.
> Bitmap and Vector images
> Resolution (and it’s relation to picture and file size).
> Choice of colour (256, RGB, CMYK).
> Graphic File Formats (For example; BMP, TIF, GIF, GIF89a, JPEG, PNG, TARGA, WMF, and HTML, or other current formats).
> The role of Standards Bodies (For example; W3C, MPEG or other current standards bodies).
> SoundFile Formats (For example; WAV, MIDI, MP3, and RA/RM or other current formats).

> An introduction to authoring will require students to:
- Create and incorporate pictures, icons, symbols, sound, video and animation
- Create and incorporate sound and animation
- Create HTML coding for images and embedded objects

> The software packages employed must reflect the packages currently used in the educational or commercial environment.
> The presentations created need not be www-based, but could take many forms including distance learning packages on CD-ROM and standalone advertising packages.
