1Firewall Implementation
> Install a firewall, with an emphasis on the issues related to both new installations and upgrades.
> Secure access to and from the Internet for clients through the use of filters, policies and rules
> Configure virtual private networks on the firewall
> Provide services such as web and mail on the Internet through the firewall
> Monitor and report security vulnerabilities and network intrusions

2Proxy Server Implementation
> Install a proxy server, with an emphasis on the issues related to both new installations and upgrades.
> Implement forward and reverse caching for optimum performance.
> Configure load sharing and fault tolerance in a group of proxy servers.
> Troubleshoot a proxy server with the use of available tools

Note
> Tutors may use any appropriate firewall and proxy server from range of vendors, such as Microsoft, Netware, Red Hat or Checkpoint.
The course should provide students with the opportunity to administer and implement a firewall and proxy server.
