CD&M; Working Group News
Garry Roberton
Greetings from the Curriculum Development & Maintenance Working Group for 2001. You will now be familiar with a number of the new and revised prescriptions from the eighth edition of the Blue Book. If you have any suggestions for improvements or corrections please contact the editor: email itgsr@twp.ac.nz, or email the relevant SIG Leader. The full content of the Blue Book is available for viewing and printing off the new NACCQ web site. Updating of the Blue Book will be via a password-protected database on the same web site; ie only accessible by the designated editor.

No doubt you have heard about the new International Computer Drivers Licence (ICDL) being promoted by the commercial arm of the NZCS. Details of this level 2/3 qualification are available from the Australian Computer Society web site www.acs.org.au. The CD&M; working group will be looking to reposition the NACCQ NZPCDL as an advanced Computer Drivers Licence. We are still waiting on a response from the NZCS on where they stand in terms of their endorsement of our NZPCDL.

A combined NDBC/CIC workshop will be held on the Monday of the NACCQ conference in Napier. Last year's workshop was a great success, thanks to those people who willingly contributed their ideas and their time. This year's workshop will provide a further opportunity to participate in the ongoing review process, so essential for ensuring that the contents of both the Blue Book and the CIC qualification reflect current industry knowledge and practice. We look forward to seeing you there.
