IT certification: A+
During September Northland Polytechnic Faculty of Business Information
Systems became an A+ Training Provider. The first course, PC Technician,
which covered the A+ curriculum was offered with 33 inquiries for 12
places during the term break in October. Attendees were from industry and
from their feedback on the week's activities felt the course was of real
value. Due to the demand we will run another PC Technician in December
and one in our Summer School programme.
We aim to be training partners in Networks+ ; iNet+ by the end of 2000
in time for courses in Summer school. The A+, Networks+ and iNet+
curriculum will also be included into our other academic programmes so
full time students can benefit by earning both an academic and industry IT
qualification.
CompTIA's LINUX+ course will be included into our stable of offerings
during 2001.

The IS programme will include a qualification in eCommerce in 2001. We
trialed a level 6 paper during 2000 - was oversubscribed in the first

qualification will be Certificate in eCommerce (1 year) and followed by
Diploma in eCommerce. The curriculum includes papers in * eCommerce
